PBIS has gone to the dogs!
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a school-wide initiative to modify students' behavior. It is an alternative approach to discipline, focused on preventing problem behavior. When problem behavior does occur, repsonses are consistent. Expectations are made explicit to students so that there are no surprises if they act out. PBIS emphasizes rewarding "good" behavior rather than punishing "bad" behavior.

How Does TTT Help PBIS?
TTT is PBIS! If you've ever trained a pet, you know that consistent, positive reinforcement of desired behavior is the key to success. TTT encourages students to take on the role of Teacher as they work to obtain "good" behavior from the dogs. In the same way schools work to implement PBIS with students, TTT helps students implement PBIS with the dogs. The real magic happens when students make the connection between their own behavior and the resulting consequences in their own lives, both good and bad.
Good begets good!
